Mac Robinson left his daughter almost 20 years ago to pursue his crack cocaine addiction. His journey took him to 21 different drug rehabilitation facilities, and he tried to commit suicide three times.

Today Robinson, 53, is sober and a student at the World Impact Bible Seminary with plans to open his own ministry to help other men on the street. And he is trying to be a father again, a part of the life of his now 26-year-old daughter.

David Callaway refused to admit that he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. The hundreds of pounds of extra weight he carried and the fact that he was unable to leave his home or hold down a job did little to make him realize he was in crisis.

The Army veteran, who had been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, now credits the Wounded Warrior Project with saving his life and family.

Walter wears his dad’s hat and dog tag and was thrilled last year when Carry the Load marchers asked him to be the flag bearer as they passed through Memphis, TN.

Diana Cuesta felt like she just kept failing until she found the Boots to Heels program. A former Air Force transportation specialist, Cuesta was homeless and fighting to keep custody of her two boys when she attended her first seminar to help women veterans adapt to the civilian workplace. From the first meeting, Cuesta knew the program, created by Attitudes & Attire, would be helpful. She just didn’t know it would change her life.
