Author Emily Giffin is a Texas girl, through and through – except that she’s from Chicago and lives in Atlanta.
Tuesday night, more than 150 fans lined up at the University Park Public Library to meet the New York Times bestselling author, on tour with her new book The One & Only. Giffin greeted many of her fans by name, thanks to an active presence on Facebook and Twitter. “Dallas is one of my favorite cities to visit. I always feel like I’m hanging out with longtime friends when I’m here,” she said.
Giffin’s love of the Lone Star State is obvious in her latest novel, which examines love, loyalty and Texas tradition, all in the shadow of college football.
The visit was the first in the “Listen Up” summer author series presented by the University Park Public Library and sponsored by Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. Mark your calendar for the next event, an evening with Graeme Simsion, author of The Rosie Project, on Thursday, June 26. Visit uptexas.org for more information.
