The sun may be hot, but the water is just fine at these top water parks in Dallas-Fort Worth!
USA Today’s Travel website 10 Best recently listed the list of the best water parks in DFW. Here are a few of our favorites from their top 10:
#1: Six Flags Hurricane Harbor | Arlington
“During your trip to Dallas, visit the water park that holds the coveted accolade, “largest in the Southwest.” If you’ve been to Texas, you know that’s quite a claim, but Six Flags Hurricane Harbor doesn’t disappoint. Wild rides like the Sea Wolf, Black Hole and Kamikaze pack a real punch for daredevils and adventure seekers, but the park also shows a softer side with its lazy river, wave pool and dozens of shaded sitting areas.” | sixflags.com
#2: NRH2O | North Richland Hills
“This 17-acre family water park is located in North Richland Hills, between Dallas and Ft. Worth. It is one of the finalists in D Magazine’s Best Place For Family Fun contest, as well. It features a wide variety of rides and attractions for single riders, groups and families. Guests can also rent out one of several private cabanas for a day of luxury and relaxation. Little kids will love Frogstein’s Splashatory, a 5-level interactive water playground that has eight slides and shaded area for guests with sensitive skin.” | nrh20.com
#3: Hawaiian Falls | Garland
“Just a short drive from Dallas, Hawaiian Falls is a water park poised to offer relaxation and revitalization for adults and hours of fun for kids. Rides like the Torpedo are engineered for thrill seekers, while attractions such as Splashwater Harbor, a shallow pool set in a playground, and Waikiki Beach, the park’s popular wave pool, are sure to be a big draw for younger kids. Hours vary seasonally, so call ahead!” | hfalls.com
#4: Bahama Beach | Dallas
“If you’re searching for a Dallas water park with local charm that won’t require a 20-minute (or more) drive to Arlington, go with Bahama Beach Family Waterpark. Located just 10 miles south of downtown Dallas, it’s the perfect haven during sweltering Texas summers. The Calypso Cooler Lazy River was engineered for prime relaxation, while the Riptide Slide and Bahama Bullet offer thrills. There are also plenty of on-site options for eating, shopping and group events.” | bahamabeachdallas.com
#5: Great Wolf Lodge | Grapevine
“This year-round family resort, defies the seasons by featuring an indoor waterpark experience that is fun for visitors of all ages. The water park is exclusive to Lodge guests, as well, so it’s never overcrowded. The popular 80,000 sq. ft. water park has nine waterslides, six pools, and a four-story treehouse water fort. There are also many organized daily activities for guests, such as a family-themed restaurant and bar, a confectionery, a spa and much more.” | greatwolf.com
