Bastille on Bishop! Celebrate French Independence Day Oak Cliff Style
July 1st, 2013 | by Update Metro
Incroyable! Tout le monde, c’est Bastille Day, or French Independence Day. Although Dallas is a seven-hour time difference (and a very expensive plane ticket) away from France, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with music, mussels and baguettes as our French freres do.
Last year, as yet another indication of Oak Cliff’s cultural vitality, over 2,000 people filled the streets around Bishop Arts District to drink wine, eat steamed mussels, play ‘pantanque’ and enjoy all things French during the neighborhood’s annual Bastille Day celebration. Organized by Go! Oak Cliff, this years’ event will take place Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 6pm-10pm. (And here’s an insider’s tip: if you’re craving some crepes, get there early!)
Allons-y!
