Dallas-Fort Worth Real Estate Sales Stay Strong in Summer

No summer slowdown here - Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty features new listings every day. This gorgeous modern home at 3601 Euclid Avenue in Highland Park is newly listed this week.
Summer is usually the season that brings a slowdown in home sales, thanks to homebuyers who are often in a vacation frame of mind.
This summer, experts are predicting that the fast-paced market will curb only slightly, as head homebuyers continue to take advantage of well-priced homes and low mortgage interest rates.
Agents at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty share their insights on the property inventory this summer:
“The low inventory problem is like the chicken and the egg. People want to sell their homes and move up, but they are having a hard time finding available homes to move up to. That’s why it’s important to work with an agent who has a great network for finding homes before they come on the market,” said Sam Sawyer.
“Inventory is very tight. Even if there is a bit of a slowdown this summer, it will take a while for inventory to reach a balanced, six-month level. We’ll likely see a continuation of higher than usual demand,” said Pam Brannon.
“Demand remains high at every price point thanks to positive economic news. The low inventory and high demand is causing prices to rise, which will motivate some potential sellers to get in the game,” said Jenni Stolarski.
“In speaking with other agents, we’ve all noted that the spring market seems to be continuing into summer. Homebuyers are well-educated about neighborhoods and home values, so when they see the right property they move quickly to make the offer,” said Molly Hurt.
