1) Frame board games (no glass) and store the game pieces in a baggie under the game board. This way they also add an attractive wall decoration!
2) Labeling toy bins with photos helps even the littlest kiddos keep their toys organized.
3) No more searching for the perfect Lego with color-organized bins! Organizing by color is also a great idea for craft supplies.
4) With a little creativity, the simplest boxes can be turned into cute creatures that make cleaning up much more fun!
5) Let your furniture go on double-duty, like this entertainment center turned toy storage.
6) Another double-duty furniture idea: this set of tall, square bookshelves from Ikea are laid on their sides and turned into a corner bench with toy storage.
7) Also from Ikea, the large Expedit square shelving unit is becoming an iconic feature in many kids’ bedrooms and play rooms.
8) Magnetic strips are a great place for cars to “park” when they’re not being played with and makes each special car easier to find.
9) A hanging shoe rack also works great as a stuffed animal holder. Pocketed shoe racks are also great for smaller dolls and craft supplies.
10) A simple structure like this climbing rope swing is another great way to store stuffed animals attractively.
11) Along with toys, clothes can be more easily organized with labeled drawers. This dresser was painted in chalkboard paint so the labels can be changed as children get older.
12) Lastly, make it easier for your older kids to help out around the rest of the house by making “chore bins” with supplies and labels so kids can make cleaning and organization a good habit.
