Kids’ Bedroom & Playroom Organization Ideas and Tips
Whether you’re staging your home to sell or moving into a new place, an organized home is essential for the overall sense of beauty and well-being in your abode.
Organization is an important skill for children. When you’re listing your home for sale, keeping kids’ bedrooms and playrooms neat and organized is a must! Here are a few simple ways to keep your children’s things organized so their rooms can be ready for a home tour in no time:
#1: No monsters under the bed— just toys! Use labeled bins to make clean-up easy.
#2: Wall-mounted planters are another unique way to store stuffed animals and other toys.
#3: When your child has outgrown his or her crib, you can use it as a small work or art station, creating a definite space for creativity (and somewhat confining any resulting mess!)
#4: Children’s books can be beautiful decorations! These skinny photo-display shelves also hold books nicely and make them easier for your children to find and put back.
#5: Or, you can paint and repurpose some shutters to neatly hold books as well.
#6: Give toy cars a place to “park” with slanted shelves.
#7: Simple shelves are a also great way to keep most-loved stuffed animals within reach, but also giving them a “home” to go back to when cleaning up.
#8: These plastic buckets are simply held together with zip-ties to make inexpensive and attractive toy storage.
#9: A shoe organizer is also great for sorting and storing craft supplies.
#10: A wine rack with plastic cups also works well for color-sorting drawing supplies.
#11: Clear kitchen canisters help children easily find and put back smaller toys and crafts.
#12: Give children a neat place to hang their artwork so you can keep things organized while also acknowledging their creative efforts.
#13: Lastly, teach your kids to organize! A simple magnet board (this one is just a painted cookie sheet) of chores to-do will help them learn responsibility for their things so you’ll worry less about their rooms being ready for a home tour.
